Description: 

Hear from local learning leaders about how L&D Professionals can influence leadership development within their organizations.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain learning current learning trends in the Tampa Bay area
  • Discuss how current learning trends apply to their organizations & teams 
  • Implement strategies for L&D to support leadership development within organizations

Presenters:

Moderator: Ingrid Bredenberg

  • Ingrid Bredenberg has worked with leaders in healthcare, education, government and business for over 30 years, equipping them with proven approaches and leading edge resources. She is the lead designer and trainer of the Leadership Innovation Academy, a program for emerging and seasoned leaders who are stepping up to new roles and responsibilities in New York State.

Panelist: Rico Ruiz

  • Rico Ruiz is the Director, Organizational Development for Tampa General Hospital. An effective and seasoned Organizational Development leader, Rico’s responsibilities include assessing, designing, developing and deploying a strategic learning and development process that builds organizational capabilities in alignment with TGH’s strategic plan. Working with key business leaders throughout the organization, Rico and his team are responsible for creating learning strategies that align to business strategies and employee development goals by designing, delivering, and/or sponsoring a variety of learning and development opportunities to increase employee engagement and retention of key talent which is vital to a high-performance workplace.

Panelist: John Just

  • John Just is the SVP of Learning Innovation for KnowBe4 Inc, the leader in security awareness training. Just has over 20 years’ experience in IT, education, and cybersecurity. He has held positions as IT director as well as SVP of education solutions at nThrive, instructional design and technology professor at the University of Tampa, chief information officer at Pinellas County Schools, and co-founder at Pinellas Virtual School. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University, a master’s degree in instructional technology from the University of South Florida, and a doctorate in instructional technology & distance education from Nova Southeastern University. 

Panelist: Marsha Falkenburg

  • Marsha Falkenburg is a skilled trainer, coach and consultant specializing in the financial industry. Marsha is the VP of the People Development Group. Her approach is hands-on and people-oriented: she presents with excitement and fun. Her work includes: internal communication, service quality management, coaching, motivating, and employee engagement. Over the last 14 years, Marsha has been responsible for the training and development of Grow staff, as well as inspiring and encouraging employees and members. She partners with front-line employees, organization wide leaders, and executives in helping them harness the power of their staff and to capitalize on strengths. Marsha has an underlying theme and focus in all of her work; valuing the individual.
