Our Presenter: Dr. Joseph Heinzman

Dr. Heinzman has a BS degree in political science and accounting from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, a MBA from Florida Tech in Melbourne, Florida and a DBA from Nova Southeastern University the Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

He spent 22 years in Aerospace business and project management and 8 years in aerospace information technology management before retiring from Lockheed Martin in 2004. He taught at Valencia State College as an adjunct business professor from 1993 to 2004 and served from 2004 to present in many full time academic positions up to and including his current position as Program Director and professor in the Business and Healthcare Management Programs at South University, in Tampa, Florida

Dr. Heinzman has been published in peer review journals and has presented at conferences in the United States and Mexico. His research spans a broad range from organizational behavior to business strategy. He has taught organizational development and change management at the graduate and doctoral levels and worked several change management initiatives while at Lockheed Martin.

He currently represents South University at the Westshore Alliance (Transportation Committee and Planning Committee), the Hillsborough County Hotel Motel Association, and the Tampa SHRM organization. He was Chairman of the Board of the Immokalee Business Incubator, a Board member of the Colorado Springs Technology Incubator, co-founder of the Colorado Springs Regional Entrepreneurial Alliance, a member of the Peak Venture Group, and a graduate of the Leadership Pikes Peak Class of 2012. He served as the CEO and Chairman of the board of the Eastern Collier County Chamber of Commerce and served many economic development organizations in the southwest Florida region from 2004 -2010.
