The Power of Peer Learning to Transform Leadership Development
Did you know?  84% of corporate leaders view learning as a critical issue, and investment in corporate leadership training is at an all-time high (Deloitte, 2017). However, CEOs and CHROs report that their companies aren’t developing leaders fast enough, or with the skills or mindset necessary for success.

So why do many leadership development efforts fail?

Simply put, we are not “meeting leaders where they are.”  While many leadership programs boast top-notch content, it’s only one piece of the puzzle.  With the pace of change in our “VUCA” world, today’s leaders need opportunities for continuous reflection, practice, and support – not more content about leadership.

In this webinar, hear why peer learning (or peer coaching) is being called “a key emerging trend in leadership development,” and why organizations are turning to peer learning as a way to accelerate leader development, solve complex problems, improve engagement, collaboration, trust, and innovation.

You’ll understand what peer learning is / is not, factors contributing to its rise, look at the diversity of forms peer learning can take, and experience a deep dive into one specific method.

Drawing upon 18+ years of corporate and educational experience, Brenda employs coach-centric solutions to help leaders develop the mindset and skillset necessary for success in today’s challenging, ever-changing workplace. Through 1-1 coaching, peer-group coaching, assessments, and experiential workshops, Brenda supports her clients in working through real-time leadership challenges while offering organizations agile solutions that build sustainable leadership capacity. The result – employees who are more engaged, more confident, more committed, and ready to lead.

Her journey into learning and development began while working at a NYC-based healthcare company, Innovatix, LLC, when she was asked to spearhead the company’s first training department. Since then, Brenda has served in management roles for two global organizations, Foot Locker, Inc., and Tiffany & Co. Redesigning and facilitating Tiffany & Co.’s robust 2-day Coaching Conversations for Business Results program was an incredible highlight for her.

Brenda is a former eighth grade English teacher and softball coach, earned her BA in English Secondary Education from The College of New Jersey, and her MA in Literature from Montclair State University. An active ATD member, Brenda served on the Board of ATD NY Metro Chapter for three years.  Brenda, her husband, and 16-year old Beagle-mix just recently made the move from Northern New Jersey to SW Florida, and couldn’t be happier.  When she’s not working with clients, Brenda loves to travel and explore new places, read, walk in nature, and tap dance (but not all at once)!

Phil LeNir is president of CoachingOurselves but thinks he is still just an electrical engineer working on the incredibly complex challenge of helping organizations develop their leaders. He co-founded CoachingOurselves with Henry Mintzberg after adapting Henry's ideas on management education for use directly in his place of work.

Phil LeNir has a Masters in International Management and a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from McGill University in Montreal. He also almost completed his Bachelors in Music from Concordia University but quit during his second-to-last semester to start an internet company in 1994.

Prior to CoachingOurselves, Phil held senior management positions in software firms specializing in speech recognition. He developed a patent in speaker verification systems and was responsible for developing speech recognition systems used by, or some might say inflicted upon, millions of people each year.

Phil has authored numerous articles on leadership development and even one on a novel multithreaded computer architecture. He also wrote a book on social and informal learning for management development which, much to Phil's surprise, has done well in Japan.
