Session Title:  “Learning to Lead” at Bloomin' Brands

Speaker:  Liane Cole, Manager of Leadership Development, Bloomin Brands, Inc.

Session Description:  In this presentation, you’ll be provided an overview of Learning to Lead, the development experience for restaurant managers at Bloomin' Brands.  The program was designed for Bloomin’ Brands, however its’ components are transferrable to almost any industry. You'll learn about Learning to Lead’s guiding principles, the progression of topics covered, and the program structure.  Learning to Lead is an eight-week development experience, using a blended learning approach with three components: self-directed learning, classroom activities, and post-class application.  Learning to Lead classes are taught by Certified Trainers who are all internal leaders.  Implementation best practices and lessons learned will be shared, as well as future program enhancements.

Learning Objectives:

  • Provide an overview of the content and format of "Learning to Lead" - the development experience for restaurant managers.
  • Describe how we incorporate the 70-20-10 model of learning directly into Learning to Lead.
  • Share best practices in implementation and lessons learned.
