    Job Description

    The Auto Club Group (ACG) provides membership, travel, insurance and financial services offerings to approximately 9 million members and customers across 11 states and 2 U.S. territories through the AAA, Meemic and Fremont brands. ACG belongs to the national AAA federation and is the second largest AAA club in North America.

    • Under guidance and supervision, use instructional design knowledge and a variety of media to complete basic instructional design tasks.  Responsibilities include: reviewing, revising and updating existing course modules, storyboards and content; evaluating revisions and updates for effectiveness; maintaining standard online courses and programs; organizing and building basic online course modules and content; creating graphic design components; developing instructor materials.  Ensure cost-effective completion of routine assignments within specified deadlines while adhering to established department and company guidelines.
    • Maintain positive work relationships with operations and corporate partners.  Partner with subject matter experts and Learning Specialists to gather information and identify additional media/methods for training current material.  Analyze existing materials and training platforms to identify performance problems and content adequacy and accuracy issues.  Apply standard concepts, techniques, systems understanding and procedures to solve a range of straightforward problems.  Use sound judgement to escalate issues to senior staff.   Review possible recommendations and solutions with management, business partners and subject matter experts.  Obtain appropriate approvals.
    • Work with Learning and Development Support Team to upload course updates and documents to the Learning Management System.  Evaluate and test all revisions and updates.  Coordinate and facilitate hand-off training for Learning Specialists.
    • Maintain current and emerging knowledge of instructional design techniques and media.  When necessary, may participate on project teams and complete additional assignments.



    • Bachelor Degree in Education, Training, Instructional Design or a related field


    • utilizing instructional technology to edit course content
    • writing, editing, proofreading and organizing course content, layout and audio/video scripts
    • interviewing subject matter experts
    • creating instructional documents, guides or job aids


    Knowledge and Skills

    • training methods and techniques
    • course and script writing techniques
    • current instructional design techniques and media (i.e., Captivate design)
    • Microsoft Office applications, Microsoft SharePoint, Adobe Creative Suite


    • write and edit course modules and programs
    • develop storyboards with graphic design components for various employee audiences
    • communicate effectively within a work environment
    • conduct needs assessments
    • actively identify new learning opportunities
    • demonstrate strong writing skills
    • analyze and resolve problems
    • willingness and ability to travel throughout the assigned region
