Sarasota GIG: New Wave Ways to Train

Jenny James taught 12 years in academics before becoming a corporate trainer in banking, leadership, and project management.  After obtaining a Masters in Instructional Design, she developed an online training Website for the Department of Defense, and designed blended, VILT, and ILT training for new hire sales and leadership for First Data and AT&T.  She is now with Bisk Education and is involved with Agile project management using a variety of software programs.  She puts the “do” in professional development, encouraging learners to do and act rather than sit and listen or sit and read.  We are fortunate to have Jenny present at our February meeting on the topic: New Wave Ways to Train.

We’ve come a long way in online learning from CBT’s blue screen and white letters.  Journey along with Jenny to the new wave of presenting training content.  From Snowfall to Bubbl to Powtoon, learning experience designers are using the WOW factor in animated presentation technology to keep their learners connected and engaged.  Learners are using simple animated technology to submit their assignments and show us that they learned.  So get on board with this new wave in training!
