Jack Massa, owner of Guidance Communications, Inc., has a mission to make complex information clear. He has designed, developed and delivered learning solutions for organizations such as Equifax, The Home Depot, InterCall, Unisys, Intuit, JP Morgan Chase, and many others. Jack has a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing and certificates in Learning Design and Computer Programming. He is an Associate Fellow of the Society for Technical Communication and has held leadership positions with ATD Chapters in Atlanta and Tampa. We are fortunate to have Jack Massa present at our April meeting on the topic: Show Me and I'll Remember: Communicating Your Ideas with Pictures.
Communication is more memorable if you use pictures as well as words. Neuroscience and numerous research studies support this assertion. But not everyone is an artist (or has one on staff). In this session, we'll explore a practical framework anyone can use to visualize business ideas and present them as simple pictures. We'll practice drawing (with pencil and paper, or bring your tablet or laptop); and we'll discuss ways to transform simple drawings into graphics suitable for formal presentation.

Stephanie Jones is a Senior-level Human Resource and Training Professional with over 20 years of experience.  She combines operations knowledge, leadership experience, business management skills, organizational development training, and Human Resources background to ensure on-going business success.  She is also an effective trainer with the ability to steer others in understanding complex situations and subjects by creating a fun and interactive training experience that all levels and departments can relate to.  We are very fortunate to have her to present at our September meeting.


The fight or flight syndrome, everyone has experienced it: sweaty palms, that sick feeling in the pit of your stomach, an inability to sleep as you run scenarios over and over in your mind.  That’s your body’s natural response to conflict.  It doesn’t have to be that way; the key to conflict resolution is preparation.  You can’t control others’ behaviors; you can only control your response.  Learn how to use the communication wheel to ensure you are addressing the right problem, the AEIOU model for effective communication, and the listening techniques that will help you create a positive outcome through conflict resolution not conflict avoidance.
