    The University of South Florida’s Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS) is one of the world’s largest, free-standing simulation facilities exclusively dedicated to training healthcare professionals. CAMLS is part of the USF Health Downtown Initiative. CAMLS provides simulation experiences for educating students; training health care faculty in simulation education; and preparing health care professionals to acquire, maintain and enhance their clinical practice to meet today’s workforce needs and improve patient care in Tampa Bay, Florida and around the globe.


    Job Description

    The Project Management Assistant (PMA) provides administrative support in the implementation and management of multiple strategic projects and initiatives. As an active participant in the project management process, the PMA will assist with developing project documentation, monitoring progress, communicating with project team members, organizing and attending meetings, and completing tasks as assigned by the Deputy Chief of Strategic Operations & Project Management as well as other project managers.

    The PMA is also responsible for providing analytic support across the organization to enable better data-driven decision making and planning.

    The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, a background in adult education, and experience with strategic planning, business analysis, and process improvement.

    Location:  USF Health, Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS)

    Title: Project Management Assistant

    Description:  A short-term engagement to support strategic and business planning; Reporting to Deputy Chief of Strategic Operations & Project Management

    Term:  March 1 – June 30, 2018, with an option for month-to-month renewal, not to exceed 6 months

    Structure:  $28/hour up to 35 hours/week, does not include benefits or other fringe; retained as a 1099 contractor

    Responsibilities 

    Project Management Assistance (60%)

    • Support the execution of CAMLS strategic initiatives and business plan through implementation and administration of key projects
    • Assist in the development of project documents, cost estimates and budgets, timelines and schedules
    • Coordinate and assist with project status updates to leadership and internal teams
    • Assist in the development and implementation of action plans to address process improvement
    • Assist with training and support for new and revised business processes
    • Prepare for and assist with project meetings and follow-up

    Data Analysis, Documentation & Reporting (40%)

    • Collect, analyze and interpret client revenue data, in collaboration with the Business Development team, to design a scheduling plan based on activity in the building
    • Support the implementation of a refined approach to data management within the shared drive, including the improvement of accessibility, security, archiving and distribution
    • Evaluate return on investment (ROI) of CAMLS training programs
    • Transform data into actionable knowledge for the organization by writing and preparing comprehensive reports, briefs, spreadsheets and presentations
    • Document and update workflows and business processes

    The PMA will perform additional duties as needed.


    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, a background in adult education, and experience with strategic planning, business analysis, and process improvement.

    • Advanced proficiency level with Microsoft Office suite

    Preferred

    • Experience in adult education
    • Proficient in project management software


    Minimum Education/Experience

    This position requires a Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, with at least five years of experience in a project management or business analysis role. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
