    Panel Discussion: The Future of Leadership Development

    Description: What do the L&D leaders of Suncoast Credit Union, TECO, Raymond James, and Moffitt Cancer Center think about the future of leadership development? Where are we heading?     Alex Savon - Alex is the Leadership Development Manager for Suncoast Credit Union where he manages curriculum instructors and helps create competency-based classes and programming and manages a selective leadership academy used for succession planning.

    Bruce Napier - Bruce is the Senior Administrator, Assessment and Organizational Development, for TECO Energy, in Tampa.  He has been training, developing, and supervising instructors, individuals and work groups in various leadership, supervision, and motivational disciplines since 1981—all over the world.

    Tami Krebs - Tami is a Director, Talent and Development for Raymond James Financial Services, where she is helping her client groups within the firm build their future leadership pipeline through the development of more effective teams and leaders. Tami has over 18 years experience includes identifying and implementing creative organization, leadership, and talent development solutions across a variety of industries.

    Gabi Harmon - Gabi is an internal Organization Development consultant with Moffitt Cancer Center and a part-time adjunct instructor in leadership studies at USF.  Gabi’s latest project has been redesigning Moffitt’s leader onboarding program.

    This Articulate Storyline workshop has been designed for anyone who is brand new or just starting with Articulate Storyline 2, 3, or 360.


    What Will You Learn?

    Articulate Storyline is quickly becoming one of the most popular eLearning authoring tools available on the market today. Even if you’re just starting to design and develop eLearning content, Articulate Storyline is a great tool new and experienced learning professionals alike.

    In this two-day, hands-on workshop, you will learn everything you need to know to start building interactive eLearning courses Articulate Storyline. Starting with an exploration of the Articulate Storyline interface, you’ll learn how to create a new eLearning project. From there, you’ll explore how to add scenes and slides, how to add on-screen images and text, and how to create interactive content. In addition, you’ll also learn how to create quiz questions, screen simulations, and how to publish your finished eLearning course.

    After attending this workshop, you’ll learn how to:

    • Create a new project.
    • Add scenes and slides.
    • Add and edit text, graphics, video, and audio.
    • Animate content with entrance / exit animations and motion paths.
    • Create object states and slide layers.
    • Create interactions with triggers and variables.
    • Create quiz questions.
    • Create screen recordings and simulations.
    • Customize the player.
    • Publish a course. 


    • Participants are required to bring their computer with Articulate Storyline 2, 3, or 360 installed. You can download a 30-day trial from Articulate's website if needed.
    • Power will accessible in the training room to plug in your laptop.

    Do you want to create responsive and engaging eLearning without complex programming skills? Adobe Captivate is a highly effective, low cost option that will help you create immersive eLearning experiences that learners will love!

    This 1-day workshop will provide you with all the skills you need to create outstanding interactive content using an authoring tool that has been embraced by more than 80% of Fortune 500 companies.


    The modern learner has far higher expectations, which often involves being able to ‘pull’ on learning when required as opposed to being ‘pushed’ through a training course.  This has recently been illustrated through the ATD ‘State of the Industry’ report, which highlighted the increased use of online delivery by organizations. Let’s be honest too, we are all asked to do more with less. So reduce your instructor lead facilitation time, your learners time away from their tasks and deploy OnDemand learning to your organization or clients.

    Although there are now hundreds of authoring tools available to create this engaging online content – Adobe Captivate remains one of the industry leaders.

    This 1-day workshop will provide ‘hands on’ training in how to use key features of Captivate to create professional eLearning content.

    Participants will be required to bring with them their own laptop with the 30-day free trial version of Adobe Captivate pre-downloaded (if you do not already subscribe to Adobe Captivate).

    By the end of this 1-day course you will be able to:

    • Describe the eLearning instructional design best practices
    • Locate and use key features of Captivate
    • Design quizzes that can be tracked in any SCORM compliant Learning Management System.
    • Develop a software simulation.
    • Develop responsive eLearning
    • Create and publish an eLearning module in HTML5, which can be viewed on any device including desktop, laptop, tablet and mobile.

    Who is this course for?

    • L&D professionals who are looking to move into online eLearning content development.
    • Individuals who are new to using eLearning rapid authoring tools.
    • eLearning developers who are new to Adobe Captivate (e.g. may have used Storyline previously)

    Who is this course not for?

    • Users who already have an advanced understanding of Adobe Captivate.
    • Individuals who are highly experienced at eLearning development.


    • Participants will be notified to download the trial version of Adobe Captivate within 30 days of the training. Please do NOT leave this until the day of the training!

    (eLearning Chair) for ATD Suncoast, and Advisory Committee member for the USF Muma

    are eLearning development, Instructional Design (ISD), Learning Technology, Security
    Culture, and Instructor Lead Training (ILT). He has 20+ years in Learning & Development
    spanning multiple industry groups; he holds several certifications in ISD and L&D software

    Developing and Implementing the Outward Mindset


    Arbinger’s work reveals two distinct mindsets from which people and organizations operate—a self-focused inward mindset and an others-inclusive
    outward mindset. Arbinger has a thirty five-year record of successfully helping organizational change efforts by equipping people to shift to an outward mindset. Studies show that organizations that focus on this kind of mindset change are four times more likely to succeed in organizational change efforts than companies that focus only on changing behavior.

    Arbinger helps organizations and their people to turn outward by (1) shifting
    their mindsets, (2) equipping leaders to invite outward mindset ways of working
    among their teams, and (3) helping leaders to turn organizational systems
    and processes outward in order to invite and reward sustained, systemic change.

    This process begins with Arbinger’s foundational workshop, Developing
    and Implementing an Outward Mindset (DIOM). In this course, participants learn how to implement a performance platform that enables them to operate with an outward mindset. They learn and apply four sets of tools: self-awareness tools that help them see when they might be operating with an inward mindset; mindset-change tools that they can apply to turn their mindsets outward; accountability tools that help them to operate in their roles with an outward mindset; and collaboration tools that teams can deploy together in order to operate with an outward mindset.

    Developing and Implementing an Outward Mindset equips participants with a set of self-awareness tools, mindset-change tools, accountability tools, and collaboration tools that enable them to:

    • Understand the two mindsets and their implications on results
    • Assess the extent to which they are working with an inward mindset
    • Change their mindsets to become more outward
    • Re-conceive their jobs to make them more outward
    • Hold themselves more fully accountable
    • Report on performance in a way that keeps them working outward
    • Work in a way that is more collaborative, fulfilling, and effective
    • Positively influence others to change
    • Address and resolve conflicts

    Materials for participants include the DIOM Participant Handbook, Sustainment Video Guide (and accompanying videos), and two of Arbinger’s bestselling books, Leadership and Self-Deception and The Outward Mindset.
